TYS Support Center - How to run a traceroute



To run tracert click on start and the run then type in "cmd" if you are using Windows NT/2000 or "command" if you are using Windows 95/98/millennium. You will see the following screen.

This is a screen shot of a drive H: at the command line,  Your drive will vary.  Most times it is c:\>

Next type in the following command at the prompt "tracert yourdomain.com > tracert.txt"

The command will create a text file with the information relevant to your site. In the above command "yourdomain" can be your "ipaddress" or "yourdomain.com" either it will produce the right infomation.
